Barbie Visits "Mother Cluckers" in Palatine

Image
Barbie Visits Mother Cluckers in Palatine, Illinois There are no TVs, just great music. All our food is fresh and made with family recipes. Barbie noticed they are BYOB, do bring your favorite wine or 6 packs and we will put it on ice for you. Sit back, relax, and let us do the cooking. http://mothercluckerskitchen.com/ Barbie wants to tell you a short story first to explain why I love Mother Cluckers.  Of course the name is funny, so you really hope the food is good.  Excellent is all I can say.  To start, the chicken tasted like fried chicken but you could tell it was so much lighter with almost no grease.  It had a very crispy texture you typically find on fried chicken.  Very crispy and crunchy.  The chicken dinner comes with either biscuits or hush puppies....Barbie got the hush puppies and they were really good. Go try it tell them Barbie sent you!

Who grooms Barbie?

Image
“My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my dog thinks I am.” This starts with Grooming Barbie... People love to touch Barbie's top knot, or Pom. The people at Jimminy Clippers have been doing a great job for her. Give them a call, you won't be disappointed. We love the bows and ribbons they put in her ears... “No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you feel rich.”  💋💋

The Secret to a Happy Dog

Image
The Secret to Happiness The meaning of life is to live it. The secret to a happy dog is to help her live a fulfilled life. That means she actively participates in it. She plays, goes places, and does things. Basically, the secret to a happy dog is not much different at all from the secret to a happy person. Do dogs have a sense of self-esteem? If you doubt it, just watch a dog who has accomplished a complicated task. See how she holds her head high and struts! Dogs need to have confidence in themselves and their ability to master tasks. Training a dog builds her self-esteem. It makes them feel good to master the perfect Sit and earn your appreciation! Learning tricks is fun for dogs. There are also all sorts of canine sports available that dogs enjoy. Agility, fly ball, ultimate frisbee, and lure coursing are just some of the examples. A dog with a hobby is a fulfilled dog.

All work and no fun is not good

They’re Excited to See You Happy dogs greet you at the door, get excited when you wake up, and keep an eye on you when they're playing in the dog park…unless their best canine friends are demanding all their attention, of course.

A suggestion before visiting Nursing Homes and Hospitals

Image
Just a note before visiting a Nursing Home or Hospital...  Hospital Visitors Don't enter the hospital if you have any symptoms that could be contagious . Neither your patient nor other hospital workers can afford to catch whatever you have. If you have symptoms like a cough, runny nose, rash or even diarrhea, don't visit. Make a phone call or send a card instead. Don't take young children to visit unless it's absolutely necessary . Even then, check with the hospital before you take a child with you. Many hospitals have restrictions on when children may visit. Don't take food to your patient unless you know the patient can tolerate it . Many patients are put on special diets while in the hospital. This is especially true for those with certain diseases or even those who have recently had  anesthesia  for surgery. Our goodies could cause big problems. Don't visit if your presence will cause stress or anxiety . If there is a problem in

The Power of Pause

Image
The Power of Pause When we first make contact with Barbie, we see she is well trained. It seems as though most of us are in a constant rush. We want things to happen now and are impatient if this fails to occur. By slowing down and acknowledging the importance of spaces in time, we may actually achieve what we desire more quickly. The pause allows us a moment to reflect, exhale, become neutral, integrate, be mindful and listen. Pausing when we put our hand out, before starting,   allows Barbie to make a connection and gives her a moment, as in a greeting. A moment of stillness upon approach when wanting to engage Barbie instead of just marching up to her, walk a few steps, stop for a moment, exhale and diffuse your gaze causes an Barbie to feel less invaded. Then it allows her to meet us in the approach. When doing groundwork and you give a signal, such as asking Barbie to move forward, people often give a signal and immediately scold when she does not comply. Reme
